Cookies

What we store on your device, what runs in the background, and why.

Essential storage

InDeal keeps a small amount of information on your device so the site can work properly.

  • Sign-in session — keeps you signed in between visits.
  • Town preference — remembers which town you last browsed.
  • Visit identifiers — a random visit number and session number, kept in your browser's local and session storage, so your repeat visits aren't counted as brand new ones.

Analytics

Our hosting provider (Lovable) loads a small script on every page, called ~flock.js. It sends anonymous usage information — which pages you look at, roughly how long you stay, the website that sent you here, your browser language, and an approximate country worked out from your IP address — to our host, which passes it on to an analytics service called Tinybird so we can count it up.

We use it to find out which parts of InDeal people actually use and what to build next. The numbers aren't linked to your account or your name, and we don't use advertising, social media or cross-website tracking cookies.

Map images from OpenStreetMap

Pages with a map on them — Town info, Eat & drink, Alerts and the parking map — load their map images from OpenStreetMap. When a map appears on your screen, OpenStreetMap's servers receive your IP address as they send those images to you. This is outside our control, and OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy is at openstreetmap.org/copyright.

Sign-in providers

If you sign in with Google or Apple, those services may set their own cookies under their own policies while you sign in.

Managing cookies and storage

You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings at any time. If you do, you'll be signed out and your town preference will be forgotten. You can also block the analytics script with a content blocker or privacy extension — the rest of the site still works normally.
